I am a husband, an educator, a traveler, and a coffee connoisseur. I have been married since December 2011, I have been working in education full-time since September of 2007, and I lived abroad from 2009 through 2016. My life goals include visiting as many countries as my schedule allows, learning Korean, studying History, and working in Higher Education. My hobbies include playing the guitar, freelancing as a graphic designer, scuba diving, and playing ultimate frisbee.
I am the youngest of six children, I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, and I spent much of my youth playing competitive and non-competitive sports. I attended Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri and received my B.A. in Biblical Studies and Business Management in 2006. In 2007, I moved across the country to Phoenix, Arizona and taught for 2 years at Desert Spirit School in Glendale, Arizona. It was at Desert Spirit where I recognized by interest and desire in teaching and continued that passion to South Korea in 2009.
From 2012 through 2016 I served as an Assistant Professor at The University of Suwon, the Lead Curriculum Developer for the International Education Department, and the Program Director for The English Circle, a campus wide advising and mentoring initiative I designed to reach out to the university community. My other duties included new instructor recruitment, editor for the USW English Newspaper, and graduate student ESL conversation course instruction. In 2014 I received my M.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Western New Mexico University with an emphasis on Latin American History and Political Science.
In the beginning of 2016 I returned to the States where I Served as the physical education instructor at Odyssey Academy for Advanced and International Studies in Buckeye, Arizona, as well as, in the summer I served as the Camp Director at Vassar College for iD Tech Camps. Since November 2016 I have been working with some of the most interesting young people around at Rider University where I serve as the Community Director of Centennial House and Coordinator of Auxiliary Services.
Above all, I am blessed to be married to my amazing wife, humbled by the life I have received, and curious about what the future holds.
